Math Centers that Make Your Job Easy!

Do you ever find yourself thinking last minute in the middle of a lesson, "Wow! That went a lot faster than I expected.. now what?" OR "I have no idea what I'm going to do for that one center today?"

I'm guilty of this on a daily basis and I knew I needed something meaningful, fun and engaging. So, I created Math Centers for my Third Graders.
I try my best to keep my classroom as organized as possible. This does not always happen and at any given moment there is a pile of ungraded papers lurking somewhere, but the point is at least I try!

That being said, when I started creating this product I wanted to use a big tote full of 4x6 photo containers. I got mine at Hobby Lobby, so I could use my 40% coupon!

I'm in love with these containers. I don't know who the teacher was who first thought of using these, but you're a GENIUS!

I made a cover, label and instructions for each box. I wanted to make it as easy to use as possible, so all of my students would be able to work independently. So, I also included an objective on the cover, in case they wondered "why are we learning this" OR the ever dreaded Admin walk through.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one, but every time that ever happens and they go ask a student, "what are you learning today?" It is ALWAYS to that one student who has no clue what's going on and just finished some form of booger art on their desk. It happens every time, so I put these on there in hopes of the students being a little more intentional in their learning.
Each of the boxes has an activity, anchor chart, record sheet, objective and instructions. This ensures that all of my students are able to work independently without having to interrupt my math groups to ask for help! Which helps save my sanity and definitely cuts down on the amount of times I have to redirect them!

The kids enjoy being able to work with their friends and do something that is not just worksheets at their desks. They especially love the activities and puzzle type activities that make learning interactive and fun.

Seriously, though if there is any activity or game that you can think of that you would like added to this, please let me know and I would love to add it!
